Christmas exhibition: P.N. Møller's gnomes

Peter Nikolaj Møller's drawings of quirky gnomes occupies Koldinghus' basement. 

You can among other things see a selection of Møller's originale pencil drawings with Christmas themes, a big and rare cup with a happy gnome riding a pig, and read about P.N. Møller's life.

Stone of Heaven 

HRH Prince Henrik’s Collection of Oriental Jade Art

HRH Prince Henrik has collected Asian jade art all his life. The collection, which is housed at Fredensborg Palace, Amalienborg Palace and Château de Cayx, numbers more than several thousand objects. Prince Henrik himself will introduce the collects in a series of brief films.

Knit Renaissance

As part of the Museum at Koldinghus’ celebration of the 400th anniversary of King Christian 4’s knights’ assembly at Koldinghus in December 1616, the museum has invited the textile crafts group Netmaskerne to explore the topic of the Renaissance. In the juried exhibition Knit Renaissance, Netmaskerne uses extraordinary techniques, exquisite yarns and surprising colour combinations to create a series of spectacular outfits inspired by Renaissance culture.

#MYTREASURE 

A glance into a personal collection 

As part of the exhibition Stone of Heaven. HRH Prince Henrik's Collection of Oriental Jade Art, which focus on the passionated collector we have invited nine private collectors. They will in the exhibition #Mytreasure show their personal collection of anything from Cindy dolls to matchboxes.

Beyond Icons 

New perspectives on design

BEYOND ICONS challenge our views on design by going behind the icons and exhibit many designers, users, politicans, culture personalities, scientists and professionals bid on brilliant design, which will not necessarily be "icons" known from the magazine's covers. As an integrated part of the exhibition will the graduates from Design School Kolding represent their projects. The exhibition is part of the Design School Kolding's 50th anniversary.    

31 October 2017 - Partial permanent exhibition 

The Reformation 500 years 

Koldinghus will open an exhibition created with one of Kolding Gymnasium's junior classes to celebrate the anniversary of the Reformation. The exhibition will through the perspective of young people open up for the importance the Reformation have today. In the exhibition there will be both objects from the Reformation time in Kolding and films with young people's reflections. The exhibition can be seen in Christian III's Chapel.

Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Free admission for children and youngsters under 18 years.

PARKing

Parking facilities for visitors of the museum are outside The Stableyard.

 

Parking fee: 11 DKK per hour.

 

Two parking spaces in the stableyard are reserved for cars for disabled people.
