Gaudí Unseen
Completion of La Sagrada Família Cathedral in Barcelona.
Each year more than 2 million people flock to the building site around La Sagrada Família Cathedral in Barcelona. They want to see what progress is being made with the building of the fantastic church designed by Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926). The exhibition provides an up-to-date report of the situation and shows how today’s architects, with the help of modern computer technology, have reconstructed the architectural drawings that were lost during the Spanish Civil War.

Flying bats at Koldinghus
Every year in late summer bats find their way into the castle, and particularly in the Castle Chapel visitors can be lucky enough to see the small animals either flying around in the high-ceilinged space or hanging on the old walls with their heads down in deep sleep. This year we are therefore showing a poster exhibition that has been prepared as a cooperative project with the chalk mine sites of Mønsted Kalkgruber and Kalkberghöhle Noctalis in Bad Segeberg, illustrating the life and habits of bats.

The Beatles Forever!
On The Beatles, the fan culture and being young in the 1960s
We are marking the 50th anniversary of the creation of the most successful music group of all time. The exhibition tells the story of the music, the fans and the youth culture of the 1960s and provides a chance to revisit the cultural history of that decade in the post-war period – a decade that witnessed massive changes in society. The beginnings of growth of the society of plenty, the breaking up of family patterns, the reaction against authority, women’s liberation, the peace movement and the youth revolt - all these concepts played out on the stage behind The Beatles. The exhibition describes the decade as seen through the eyes of the young. It invites you to sit on a bean-bag in a teenage bedroom to listen to gramophone records in the mood of the time; or to hop on the back of a scooter and take a ride to get to a concert in a youth club. And The Beatles are with you the whole way.

Embroidery over several decades
50 years of “Cross stitch of the Year”
Cross stitch embroidery is a classic. And like many other traditional kinds of handicraft work cross stitch is experiencing a revival at the moment. For half a century Haandarbejdets Fremme (the Danish Handcraft Guild) has kept the tradition alive, e.g. through the production each year of a calendar with embroidery patterns, Årets Korssting. The exhibition shows examples of exceptional Danish cross stitch embroidery - designed by well-known Danish artists, including Her Majesty Queen Margrethe, Bjørn Wiinblad and Mads Stage. The exhibition is being mounted in cooperation with Rudersdal Museum and Haandarbejdets Fremme.
