Japan - Culture and Art in the Edo Period. A flourishing time under the Shogun
In connection with the exhibition the museum is publishing a book featuring articles by leading Danish experts on Japan. Richly illustrated, it also contains a catalogue of the exhibition, and brief introductions in German, English, and Japanese.
A very special and evocative contribution to the book is the beautiful calligraphy of Reiko Tange. In the form of characters related to the themes of the book, the calligraphy also embodies one of the aesthetic and meaningful elements in Japanese culture that fascinates people all over the world because of its beauty, without it being necessary for us to understand the text.
Published by Museet på Koldinghus in collaboration with Thaning & Appel. Edited and layout by: Birgit Jenvold og Hanne Posche
The book is published with support from Toyota-Fonden.
Can be ordered through the museum shop at Koldinghus or bought in bookshops all over Denmark. Price 199 DKK.
